Welcome

Green is the word. Western PA will remain this lovey shade until September. One of the side benefits of hiking is witnessing seasonal changes in the landscape. Often there is also a historical link to land.

This week Diane Moore is exploring  an abandon rail road passage that has been turned into a hiking trail. Visiting this area during the “green season” would be a  wise choice.

Memorial Day weekend is considered to be the ideal time to plant tender seedlings in western PA. Why is this date so coveted? Because it is rare that frost will make an appearance past this weekend.

I recently visited a Seed Library and now am itching to dig in the dirt. Planting a seed is bringing forth new life and adding beauty to your surrounds. Join or start a seed exchange today!

Get outdoors this week, take a hike or dig in the dirt. Either will lift your spirts.
